John Hunter: “Teaching the World Peace Game”

John Hunter takes his turn on the TED stage in his performance “Teaching the World Peace Game” in which he describes the crucial aspect of education and how properly teaching peace and critical problem solving to children in a fun game like environment at a young age can benefit our future generations in unparalleled ways.  He describes how children differ from adults in their lack of world experience and preconceived notions toward others, thusly making them much more accepting to the pure dream of world peace and allowing them to think more clearly when problem solving.

To me, this is an inspiring take on creating a more peaceful and productive future in which children learn coexistence through fun and simple experiences that can shape them into more tolerant and understanding adults. Everyone has always said that education is important in shaping our future generations however the education we give them is lacking. While it heavily focus on core studies such as math and language in fails to promote ethics and change after the first year or two of K-12 schooling. Hunter does a fantastic job in describing this issue and giving his take on how we can make a change.
